What Attracted You To The Field of Nursing? In 1986 I attended nursing school as a way to support my 2 little boys following a divorce. Many years ago I was called to hospice and found out that I had an ability to connect with people that was very fulfilling and actually made a difference. Well, I began to see this ability as a gift that I was given to help others. So, early in my hospice career I knew that I had a duty to bring comfort and care to those dealing with the end of life. Every day, I am thankful that I have the honor and privilege of caring for the dying.
