Dr. Avery Jackson III received a degree in biology from the University of Chicago;  medical degree  from Wayne State University; his internship in general surgery at Northwestern University; and neurosurgery residency at Penn State University. He completed a complex neurosurgical spine fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin with emphasis on performing translational research in the spine biomechanics engineering lab. He is a board certified neurosurgeon.

He is the founder and chief executive officer of the Michigan Neurosurgical Institute PC for the last 18 years.

He has presented research at several national and international neurosurgical and spine conferences in the United States and abroad. He has participated and led several investigational trials.

He holds over 20 patents for inventions in areas of neurosurgery and general surgery. He serves on several  boards.

Education and communication are extremely important to Dr. Jackson. As a result of this interest, he created MNI Great Lakes ECHO LLC in 2017.  It is a telecommunication company that owns a one of a kind virtual platform that facilitates high quality medical education and provides continuing medical education credit for many organizations and meetings
