 Federal workers get reprieve from vaccine mandate penalties until 2022, November 29, 2021:"The White House originally set a Nov. 22 deadline for federal workers to be fully vaccinated or face suspension or dismissal unless they were granted a religious or medical exemption.

But the Office of Personnel Management and the Office of Management and Budget said on Monday that noncompliant workers should not be penalized until January in order to allow officials more time to convince holdouts to get inoculated against the coronavirus."

 Kansas’ vaccine exemption law brings new rules for employers, attorney general says, Nov 24, 2021:"Public and private workers in Kansas can now cite their religious beliefs to avoid being required to get the COVID-19 vaccine requirement. Attorney General Derek Schmidt announced Wednesday that it has also become illegal in Kansas for any employer to “inquire” or make discretionary determinations about the legitimacy of a workers’ religion when they ask for an exemption from the vaccine requirement.

“In Kansas, an employee’s religious faith may not be put on trial in order to obtain the waiver to which the employee is entitled by law. It is particularly distressing when a public-sector employer, an agent of the government, sits in judgment of the sincerity of an employee’s religious faith. Under the new law now in effect, that is not only distressing, it is also illegal.”"

 31 state employees terminated over vaccine mandate (Connecticut):"The executive branch employs 30,517 people, according to the release, who have the option to become fully vaccinated or wear masks and submit to weekly testing. Of those, 25,646 are vaccinated, accounting for 84% of the workforce. There are 1,403 employees who are non-compliant with the mandate.

The executive branch also employs 3,678 who work in the healthcare field and are mandated to become fully vaccinated. According to the release, 3,324 are fully vaccinated, accounting for 90% of the workforce with 153 remaining non-compliant."

The rule was released by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration on Nov. 5 and requires private businesses with more than 100 employees to ensure workers are either vaccinated or tested weekly for COVID-19, beginning Jan. 4.
