Can you describe some challenges you had to overcome in starting your business? Leaving a W2 employer in health care was scary. Overcoming personal/mental blocks of the unknown were the biggest challenge starting out.

Can you describe some challenges you had to overcome in starting your business? I started in the beginning of covid, I had challenges at first due to lockdowns in my area but found ways to connect with potential clients via social media.

Melissa Schreibfeder, RN, BSN, NC-BC, Integrative Nurse Coaching:"For my live course "Functional Medicine for Nurses"
I provide nurses with the foundations of functional medicine training and teach them how to apply in practice to achieve optimal outcomes with their client population. I also provide instruction on how to set up low cost private concierge practices.
For my practice "Integrative Nurse Coaching"
Integrative Nurse Coaching is a functional medicine practice with capabilities to serve clients in multiple states. I focus on helping my clients to uncover the root cause of dysfunction in the body through assessment, diagnostic testing and collecting a thorough health history. I work with each client 1:1 to formulate a comprehensive wellness plan for them to address all aspects of their health and coach them through implementing dietary and lifestyle changes to recover their health.

Can you describe some challenges you had to overcome in starting your business? Finding time to learn/grow outside of full time work and family as well as extra money needed for setting up a website, email, developing course, etc.

Heather Willems, RN, BSN, The Work At Home Nurse:"After starting a family of my own, I began my search for other options away from the bedside and started my work at home nurse role over nine years ago.
After answering the same questions, I started the Work at Home Nurse to help more nurse moms who are looking for the same flexibility and more time with their family by working from home and created a mini course to help address and answer these common questions.
I also know many nurses are looking for extra money, and I share affiliates that I love, that help others, and help create an additional income stream which is needed now more than ever. Over these past several years, most extra time has been spent getting involved to create change and turn the tide to fight for medical freedom, informed consent, and patient advocacy. I also joined the FLCCC Alliance as a nurse in 2021 to help patients seeking resources and information in fighting Covid, as well as the Nurse Freedom Network to to advocate for medical freedom and informed consent for all.
I've recently completed the Functional Medicine for Nurses course offered by Melissa Screibfeder and look forward to helping others as a functional medicine nurse as well as through Remnant Nursing!"

Can you describe some challenges you had to overcome in starting your business? Tech challenges, mindset issues like imposter syndrome, shame, embarrassment from putting myself out there, fear, specifically of failing or not making enough as the breadwinner

Nena Hart MSN, RN, Hart Healthcare Solutions:"I started as a nurse’s aide at 18 and worked my way up to a director of nursing to improve the quality of care for patients and working conditions for staff. I transitioned to hospice as on-call then case manager and worked my way up to director, area director and administrator, vice president and then national utilization manager of DME. I’ve been married for 18 years have 4 children and I live in Hawaii. I was so committed to high performance in my corporate role that I really strained and devalued my marriage. I had to really evaluate my priorities and my pride and change my attitude. My husband is my biggest supporter, and I am fortunate he is so forgiving. Today we are doing great and my marriage takes priority over everything else. Two years ago, I was recruited to a CEO position in Hawaii and was fired 5 weeks later with no reason. That is how I was finally able to start my consulting business." PO Box 630580 Lanai City HI 93763
