Three #Nurses Suing #Chicago Hospital (Jackson Park Memorial)#nursefriendly #nurseup #rnchat:”A third Jackson Park Hospital nurse claimed like two others in the last eight months she was strip searched, and is suing the South Side hospital.
Named as defendants in the suit besides the hospital are Merritt Hasbrouck, president and chief executive officer of JPH; Diane Glenn, director of behavior medicine at JPH; and Vernell Williams, director of nursing at JPH. The hospital is located at 7531 S. Stony Island Ave.
JPH nurses Wilma Joubert and Mable Dortch, filed suit on Oct. 12, 2011 in Cook County circuit court. Camille Taylor filed her suit on February 1, and said”

National Nurses Week Isn’t All About Ice Cream Socials, May 10th, 2012 By Jennifer Olin, BSN, RN @Jolin2 #nurseup:”When we were planning our coverage for Nurses Week here at RNCentral my editor asked if there was anything new on the Amanda Trujillo front we could include. My first reaction was, “not really.” Then I got to thinking. National Nurses Week isn’t all about ice cream socials and coffee mugs. While it is a week to talk about whom we are and what we want for the future of nursing it is also a time, I think, to talk about some of the darker aspects of this career choice and where we go with those issues.
Nurses should be recognized for all they do for their patients, their facilities, and their community. It is great to be appreciated. I think during this week of focusing on advocacy, leading, and caring we should also look at nurses who believe they are doing the right thing but get called on the carpet.”
